I am sorry for my long absence here, I had some glitches with my mobile phone for weeks and after coming back online I had to adjust to the use of social media again. This is our last piece for the year, thank you for staying through out the year. Let me use this opportunity to say “Compliments of the season friends”

At a particular time this year, I was asking God for clarity on a particular matter. After praying for some time, God “gave me a yes” and I was so happy that I just wanted to jump out.

Then on my way “jumping out”, I was directed to the story of Moses. You know Moses was given birth to at a very critical time and God sparing his life was indeed a miracle.

Looking at Moses, the way “He  forsook the palace of Pharaoh for the pains of the Israelites“….  “By faith, Moses, when grown, refused the privileges of the Egyptian royal house. He chose a hard life with God’s people rather than an opportunistic soft life of sin with the oppressors. He valued suffering in the Messiah’s camp far greater than Egyptian wealth because he was looking ahead, anticipating the payoff” (Hebrews 11:24-26,MSG)… I commend Moses’ faith (I love all the great things he did) but I saw that Moses could have gotten a glimpse of what God will have him do (His mother might have told him the story of his people “the Israelites”) however, the way he handled things made me wonder if he actually did it the way God would have had him do it.

In saying the way he handled it, I mean the fact that he murdered the Egyptian in Exodus 2:11-12 “Time passed. Moses grew up. One day he went and saw his brothers, saw all that hard labor. Then he saw an Egyptian hit a Hebrew—one of his relatives! He looked this way and then that; when he realized there was no one in sight, he killed the Egyptian and buried him in the sand“… This act landed Moses in a strange land where God had to humble him (with a vocation demeaning to him; don’t forget he was like a prince in Egypt) and teach him. Moses might have thought God had forgotten him not until the big experience of the burning bush.

I was surprised at how God told Moses to go about the assignment here… Exodus 2:16-18(MSG) “Now be on your way. Gather the leaders of Israel. Tell them, ‘God, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, appeared to me, saying, “I’ve looked into what’s being done to you in Egypt, and I’ve determined to get you out of the affliction of Egypt and take you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, a land brimming over with milk and honey.” “Believe me, they will listen to you. Then you and the leaders of Israel will go to the king of Egypt and say to him: ‘God, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness where we will worship God—our God.’… I thought God would just ask him to secretly raise an army to bring out the Israelites but here God wants to do it in His own way.

A number of times we catch a glimpse of what God is saying just like Moses and we just run off to do it in our own way, we sometimes don’t ask “whys, whens, wheres and hows questions” , we just want to do it our own way.

If the zeal of the Lord will do it, He will do it in His own way. God does not sponsor agenda or an idea that is not His.

Sometimes God tells us about future events to prepare or equip us for that moment but so many times we are so quick to just jump out and start doing.

God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, His ways are not our ways (Isa 55:9).

That vision may be for an appointed time, if so you may not need to rush things.

Finally, I read something about knowing what to do and preparing for it in the scriptures and I was amazed.

Let’s see together, Proverbs 24:27… New Living Translation writes it as “Do your planning and prepare your fields before building your house”.

We should pay attention to this even as God instructs us in the year 2021 and beyond, happy new year in advance

As we round off the year, I want to implore us to pay attention to the things we have learnt this year….. We must pay much attention than ever to things we have heard, so that we do not (in any way) drift away from the truth (Hebrews 2:1b, AMP)
