Round pegs in square holes

This is indeed stemming from my experience in the past weeks or maybe months and I am pretty sure I am not in this alone.

A lot of time, we believers are like round pegs in square holes, we don’t just seem to fit in. People just see us as being extreme, weird or even crazy. People don’t understand why we don’t follow some trends that to us are against what we stand for, people don’t understand why we will not test the waters of relationship without commitments, people don’t understand why we will not allow foul words stem from our mouths, people don’t understand why we will not get into romantic relationships without a purpose.

People see these things as normal things but we see them as against our faith, if you have been here I just want to say to you that you are not alone. Fellow believers across the nations of the world are all in this…. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure (I Corinthians 10:13, NLT)

I want to remind us that really we might look as though we are strangers and indeed we are “Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls” (1 Peter 2:13, emphasis mine).

We are not of this World. “We may seem as though we fit but we don’t really fit in, we may feel accepted by those around us but not all the time or all the way”— Lecrae Moore (American Christian rapper).

We are not of this world and really friendship with this World is enmity with God……. You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God (James 4:4, NLT)

Even, this world couldn’t recognize our God, how can it then recognize us… See how much our Father loves us, for He calls us his children, and that is what we! But the people who belong to this World don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him (I John 3:1, NLT).

In the midst of this pressure to conform to the standards of this World, we must remember these⬇️:

We should not be men who seek to do the “popular”  but men who seek to do the “biblical”  — Tony Evans ( America Mega Church Pastor, you can check him at tonyevans.org )

Don’t live for people’s acceptance because if you do, you will die from their rejection — Lecrae Moore

When in the midst of circumstances or environment that want to limit you in living out the life God wants you to live, remember these last words here from Apostle Paul: “For why should my freedom be limited by what someone else thinks? “(1 Corinthians 10:29, NLT).

  1. This is very beautiful.
I think sometimes, for me, I just tend to wonder what it’ll be like to just try something out. When it seems like almost everyone around you is doing somethings and it’s not like their lives are messed up. 😂

But thank God for always knowing better. The world isn’t my standard.

Thank you for the words sir!

  2. Every great man is odd.
The Lord wants us to be great, and to do that, we must be odd in comparison with the world.

Thank you so much sir, more unction

  3. The quote by lecrae Moore really got me .
I actually learnt not to live for people’s acceptance the hard way…. I actually noticed it s impossible because different people have different norms and different value system… The center of any meaningful Christian Life is to focus really on Jesus for it is in doing this that we experience peace in our relationship with men.

    Thanks for this ,sir
I pray for more insight and light in Jesus name.

  4. Hhmmmmmmm 🤔

    Thanks for this Sir.

If our Saviour was seen as “strange” (some even said He had a devil) because He was living the God-life, we shouldn’t expect less as His disciples.

But the Father is faithful to keep us standing as long as we keep our gaze on Him. It’s well.

God bless you Sir. More Grace.
